About us
FROM Wales is the UK registered charity supporting Fisherman's Rest Community Projects in Malawi.
Fisherman’s Rest has been working in Malawi for the past 25 years. Based just outside the Southern city of Blantyre, we have strong connections with local communities adn local government. Our aim is to carry out projects that support people out of a place of poverty, through increasing standards of education and developing business in the area.
We build schools, classrooms, libraries IT blocks. School kitchens, feeding 6,000 school children daily and toilets. Directly impacting girls experience of schools through a girls and boys empowerment programme. All our projects have a hand in schools education programmes and facilitating volunteers from overseas. We fund drilling and repairing boreholes, testing water quality. We run projects in agriculture and reforestation, as well as smallholder farming in Poultry.
The projects we support are run with a Christian ethos, however, they are all-inclusive, no matter the faith, culture, colour or beliefs of individuals or communities.
Our funds come from partnered schools, partnered businesses and individual donors. We couldn't achieve all we do without your support, which makes us truly grateful and humbled.
Thank you!
